Printing Workshop Printing Workshop

Students in printing studio will be introduced to printing technics and its creative process. Technical and material possibilities can help the students to learn to use the studio as a tool to improve their personal work and to combine both their private studio and printing studio. Printmaking has a great importance in our visual culture. It can be light and portable which makes this technic very accessible. This the reason why it has a long history. In contemporary art it gives us the possibility to use it in different ways. In printmaking practice not only we can make traditional 2 dimensional works but also we can make 3 dimensional works such as zines, artist books, billboards, etc.

Students will not only learn basic printing techniques but get an experience on that field. Study of this unit will give to the students the possibility to experiment to develop their critical point of view and to combine technics and concepts.

Glass Workshop Glass Workshop

Glass Workshop is the first and the only one in the TRNC as infrastructure and hardware. During the workshop, it is aimed that students and trainees adopt all kinds of technical, aesthetic and creative design process of glass art. In addition, through the workshops, seminars and conferences envisaged to be organized with the participation of internationally invited artists and designers during the year, the education and training period is planned to be reinforced and enriched. With the facilities that located in the glass workshop; glass blowing and casting, flame working, bead making, all of the in-furnace forming methods such as kiln casting, fusion, slumping, fixing and painting, stained glass, engraving, sandblasting, polishing and finishing; it is aimed that the students complete the research, design and implementation processes and become individuals who master these skills and materials.

Ceramic Workshop Ceramic Workshop

The ceramics workshop which has been designed in a way to enable the students and course attendees to execute all kinds of production processes, possesses all the necessary accoutrements so that they can implement, from design to finish, every kind of technique and experimental work, to unravel their creative designs. The ceramics workshop which offers means to enable the students to research and implement their subjects in line with the projects they will choose, is home to hand-building, making plaster molds, laboratory, glazing and kiln rooms.

In addition to hand-building ceramics, the ceramics workshop is home to all necessary accoutrements such as wheel throwing (pottery), template wheel, plaster wheel, mold casting to enable the students to implement the semi-industrial and industrial molding methods. Moreover, the low temperature and high temperature ceramics and porcelain firing kilns, raku kilns and accoutrements, where artistically motivated firing can be carried out offer the students the means to learn by practice the   processes involved in drying and firing for the production of ceramics.

The fully equipped ceramics laboratory which allows the research and development of ceramics material, makes experimental works possible and offers the students the chance to experiment with their creative ideas.

The seminars and workshops that will be organized throughout the year with ceramics artists to be invited from abroad and here aim at the consolidation of the education and production process.
